If the new Van Coke album is anything like their first single, it promises to be the most exciting thing this Fokof offshoot has produced yet.

No Doctor L. not wack. Sick.
nice visuals, dont like the song though.
Okay, I agree, that was hasty, you’re right, the video’s sick.
I just don’t like the musicians. They seem affected, somehow, by something unseemly and sly, both snarky and surreptitious, highly emotive and yet candindly complacent, tired and vapid, but also, industrious enough to be well versed in capitalism, gimmickry, self-mythologizing and bullshit.
And I say this, sir, as a man for whom die vader’s taal all but vanished as soon as the gates were flung ajar in his colonial junior college; a man who, all but too happy to forget, leaped swiftly across the laager only to later find himself a haggard wreck at 25, bookless and unemployed in a one-room in Brixton, a matric certificate – dog-eared from the repeated offence of being pushed out in interviews, and detailing a bumpy sequence of curvy A’s – the only sign-post leading to that now too-by-gone era, the only reminder, in concrete reality, of that parched and flagellated, but oh so grandly privileged life!
Doctor L. you want a writing gig?! That was awesome… You may just have nailed the whole Belville rock scene, “affected, somehow, by something unseemly and sly, both snarky and surreptitious, highly emotive and yet candindly complacent, tired and vapid, but also, industrious enough to be well versed in capitalism, gimmickry, self-mythologizing and bullshit.”
