Cold Rush Song

Yes Sir! Mister Machine

On the 28th of April 2012, a group of creatives came together to make a stand against not only the stagnation of their own tiny underground in a city at the bottom of Africa, but also as a reminder that a little passion can go a long way. This music video documents that experience.

The rest of the bands in cape town should just quit after watching that. Shining light in a sea of pretentious.

“artfags have latched onto hardcore” yep, because everybody knows it ain’t real hardcore unless you’re wearing basketball shorts and a wifebeater with “xDISAPPOINTEDxPARENTS” on it. grow up dude, just listen to the song and make up your own mind. 🙂

a ‘group of creatives’ from cape town playing hardcore and pretending it’s ‘real’ is fucking ridiculous. steve hofmeyer might as we’ll call himself david kramer. kak song. just plain boring. nothing new or different from the plethora of generic hardcore bands out there vomiting up insipid music.

Care to point out someone doing it better?
From the uncomfortable harmonies, clean guitar work – it’s definitely a bit of fresh air. I think you are confusing this band for ones like ‘Truth and its Burden’ who directly import every element of their band from what they see and hear overseas, from their song writing to their straight peaked caps.

If anything, this stripped down honest offering is a statement against all the artfags out there.
Additionally, they have been doing this for six years under the same banner. What were you doing six years ago? Starting high school?

hardcore is dead. it’s 2012 and you live in south africa. come on. it was never really here to begin with.
uncomfortable harmonies + clean guitar = fresh air?
hating on another band for no reason. you’re a jealous bag of dicks.
six years! wow! what have they accomplished in six fucking years that is so fucking great? just because they have punctuation in the middle of their band name doesn’t make them revolutionary.
six years ago i was washing X’s off assholes’ hands with gin. now that’s hardcore!
what does my presumed young age have to do with anything?
guess it makes you feel better somehow because you are old and hanging on to the last dregs of your youth as it evaporates and you realise your life has just been a waste of time and space and breathe. just like the rest of us and all these comments

just as an aside, i like the fact that the only people labeling this “hardcore” are the haters who come here to say that “hardcore is dead” … pretty interesting to note that the guys who actually had anything to do with putting this together don’t claim to be a “hardcore” band at all.

“Punk is the most conservative art form there is, there are so many rules about what is and what is not acceptable, and that completely negates the whole spirit of the original idea.” – Dennis Lyxzen

You kids all have a think about that for a while.

This is not hardcore. It has it’s own thing going: prog, grundge, indie, punk. I mean, when I heard the guitar in the beginning I thought it was going to be a Kings of Leon thing, then boom – right up your ass! Good band.
