F.U. (fuck you)by Des Twain / 04.12.2013
Some non-profit-charity-type organisations claim that they put the “FUN” in fundraising. But there’s also an “FU” in it: a “fuck you” acronymic. Fuck you if you don’t feel, as a South African, that you need to contribute to changing this country for the better. It’s not going to change itself. You have to participate if you want a better future for this place we call home. It’s called being a citizen.
Want a chance? On Thursday 5th December, Friday 6th and Saturday 7th, at 12 Noon (SA tIme), Waves for Change is competing in the annual Big Give Christmas Challenge. This is a global online fundraising competition that contributes over 25% of Waves for Change’s annual budget.
Who is Waves for Change? Have a look at this. The concept is simple. From 12 Noon (SA time) every online donation W4C receives is matched by the Big Give. They’ve got a big pot of cash that they have released and it’s first come, first served. They will match your donation until that pot runs dry…
As this is a global race, that pot is usually empty by 12.10! Support Waves for Change by making an online donation here.
12 Noon, shapshap!
Fuck you, very much
