ON SAFARI #MAHALA MIXTAPE04.03.2016
Kif. Local DIY music label, Quit Safari, started out pretty much as a podcast – dudes sitting around in silky boxers (potentially), casually revolutionizing the South African beat-making scene.
Quit Safari currently consists of six taste-making acts who are licking out CT’s City Bowl. No misers. The crew of electronic music producers are currently on a nationwide tour alongside London-based producer Rival Consoles. They’ll be sweating it out in Durban tonight and heading for Jozi next…
In this intermittent edition of #Mahala Mixtape we’re featuring Rival Consoles and (some of) the utmost ‘avant-garde’ of Quit Safari. Take a listen to the new wave of experimental music production (and video) with Luca Stefano a.k.a Damascvs, Swishascvs (Swishy Delta and Damascvs brolab), Christian Tiger School, Yes in French, Hessein +, Fever Trails and more.
They’ll be busting their backs on the decks tonight at the historical Winston Pub, Durban, as part of Durban’s Electronic Music Festival (DEF). Event details and free-ticket rumours below. Don’t miss the osmosis…
