The mere fact that this film got the award is because it shines a light on the Americans, making them victims of the Iraqi war, which i think is a bunch of crap.

A film those days, when it won an Oscar it was because of the performance of the film. The excuses they gave for the Hurt Locker was that it had character development, I don’t see that anywhere.

The Oscars are shear nonsense and they obviously left out the awards to great films like Tarantino’s fantastic audacious film Inglourious Basterds and Neil Blomkamps powerful District 9 and the touching drama Invictus and not to forget the emotionally haunting The Lovely Bones which was panned by many for a very strange reason.

If you fail to realise the bigger message behind the movie and treat it only as cheap popcorn, does this mean the movie has failed to deliver on the level that the director intended?

4Q, they’re hardly orgies, but they do have free stale sausage rolls and a couple of under paid smelly guys bitching about how the internet is killing film criticism, maybe that’s an orgy for you but me, I prefer my orgies to take the form of sitting around earnestly and discussing the revolution with ideology addled university students with big breasts and berets who know how to handle machine guns.

I read online somewhere that the reason it won is because the Academcy awards judging panel is made up mostly of actors, and actors cannot bear so see themselves supplanted by animated characters
