KIF or KAK?by Nathan Zeno / 13.05.2009
The ultimate all purpose headline. It makes sense because every day there is, in fact, a new dawn. Also it doesn’t commit to any topic, so it’s relevant everyday, commuters can assign their own meaning to it, everyday. An alternative would be to have “new dawn” for the morning papers and “A New Dusk” for the evening papers. As more people buy the paper in the evening there will be more relevance. Commuters going home to their shitty lives will have to face a new dusk. They can assign their own relevance. Enough with the “everything’s going to be all right” headlines. We know it’s not and we don’t care, we’ve got shitty lives to lead, will be the general feeling. Twice a day. It’ll be like mass therapy and it’ll be free. No one will have to buy newspapers, there will be mass catharsis and then no newspapers and then no more, “everything’s going to be all right” headlines. Now that will be a new dawn.
