Where the Magic Happens
29.04.2014Greenpop’s annual Reforest Fest is taking on an ambitious task of planting 6-8000 trees native to South Africa’s southern most indigenous forest, Platbos. That’s as many as the three previous years combined.
If you want to get down and dirty preserving the Platbos eco-system, and spend a weekend in the forest with yoga, music and meditation then email your deets and tell us which weekend you’d like to go on. We’ll try swing you pair of tickets worth nearly R1200!
There’s two events to choose from:
First up is is a FAMILY FEST from 9th – 11th May – chilled family fun with a good vibe
The second weekend is a FRIENDS FEST from 16th – 18th May – more music, more partying, you get the score.
Like many natural forests around the world, parts of Platbos have been cleared over the past decades for cultivation. Today, many of these cleared areas are being taken over by dense invasive alien vegetation, which pose a serious fire risk to the forest. “Forests have always looked after humanity: now it is our turn to look after the forests. ” Melissa Kriga, Platbos Conservancy.
