WE like BASS @ ZULA is non-profit and forms part of fund raising for Khamsin, a sculptural project for AfrikaBurn 2012.
The structure is an experiment in temporary space-making, responding to the vastness of the Tankwa Karoo and exuberance of AfrikaBurn. The project makes use of new and innovative intervention methods and processes within a emergent platform for radical expression.
AfrikaBurn is the spectacular result of the creative expression of a community of volunteers who, once a year, gather in the Tankwa Karoo to create a temporary city of art, theme camps, costume, music and performance.
Two of the cornerstones of AfrikaBurn are that the event is participant-created as well as being entirely non-commercial.
