The To Skin a Cat project is a campaign aimed at saving leopard populations in Southern Africa by changing cultural and religious thinking on the use of leopard skins as ceremonial dress. Get involved, To Skin A Cat project will be hosting a Corporate Golf Day fundraiser on the 5th of August at Royal Durban Golf Club.
The Mziki Shareblock Corporate Golf Day will be taking place on the 5th of August at Royal Durban Golf Club with the aim of raising conservation funding for the To Skin a Cat project and a comprehensive research study into the hyena population within the Munyawana reserve area, considered important for both Munyawana and national conservation efforts.
The To Skin a Cat project is a campaign aimed at saving leopard populations ins southern Africa by changing cultural and religious thinking on the use of leopard skins as ceremonial dress. At the heart of the documentary film following Tristan Dickerson of the Munyawana Leopard project as he tries to create a high-quality and affordable synthetic fur to combat the demand for real leopard furs used for traditional garments.
Funds raised will go towards the production of the film that will help to profile Tristan Dickerson’s proposed solution to a potential wildlife catastrophe and create local and international awareness about the issue at hand.
Tristan Dickerson, Colwyn Thomas and Greg Lomas will give a brief presentation of the project and progress to date.
The social golf day is a fun-filled event aimed at helping continue the rewarding work being done to conserve our natural habitat and eco-systems.
There will be prizes for winning two-balls, closest to pins, longest drive, lucky draw, most golf etc as well as fantastic prizes on auction to aid the fundraising. Prizes include weekends at Kirkmans Kamp and Exeter Camp in Sabi Sands Reserve, as well as Phinda Reserve in Zululand.
