The Lying King

As we continue to mourn the demise of Hayibo, we continue our series of 12 Local Satires just dying to be made..

The Lying King

This warm-hearted family comedy has a loveable hypochondriac con-artist called Shabby Shake who gets the devil’s attention with the rate and skill of his untruths. Satan visits Shake at his doctor’s waiting room telling him he’s using up all the available lies on earth. Shabby promises the Dark One he’ll let up for 3 months until the supply is restored. Fun ensues when he breaks his promise! Trevor Noah as Shabby Shake?

Trevor Noah irritates the hell outta me…and hes not even a good cemedian…he uses age old methods of doing jokes about the differences between the races…and does the accents etc..even if someone had to read the telephone directory in a Madiba accent, people will laugh..

The artist is Rico from Madam and Eve, I am guessing.

runcible indeed, that’s edward lear, dude –

as to the story – I can’t wait to see it. It sounds brilliant – just the kind of clever, witty and funny punning on the SA front which I have been (literally) dying to see for a few years. Contemporaneous, relevant, I could go on but I’ll cut to: Yay! Well done,
